Pantone describes Fall 2012 as a magical palette of color potions ready to evoke confidence, or encourage comfort. Use of Tangerine, vibrant Pink, bright Chartreuse, Black & Blue, Pops of Ultramarine Green, and Gold accent metal are discussed further in the members-only full report.

WOMEN’S STYLING STORIES

Animal Prints Beyond Leopard. Animal skin prints have been strong in apparel for some time, and they’ve moved to legwear in a bold way. This season fresher, more unusual animal prints, including python-print tights by THA Members Hue and leopard-print tights by K. Bell are hot.

Classic Socks For Modernizing Second-Season Looks. Ankle boots, strong for a few seasons now, are being updated with ankle and crew sock styling. Day and evening ensembles are being punched up with classic black knee and over-the-knee socks as a modern statement.

Boyfriend, Camping Plaids And Military-Man. This trend calls for one thing: boot socks. Boot socks help say in a louder way I borrowed EVERYTHING from him.

MEN’S STYLING STORIES

Cropped Pants. We here at THA call this trend a cash cow. Thank you designers!

Color! Particularly tangerine, is a guy’s statement making accessorizing BFF.

Black Casual Socks With Shorts. We first started seeing this on city skateboarders and now it’s exploding onto the runway.

Neutral Framing. Sock islands of tranquility in thick textures help to rescue the eye from too much color and design throughout the look.

Relaxed From Head To Toe. Cozy themes call for cozy socks.

Tonal Apparel. This trend is so chic but it screams somebody please break up the monotony with some visible sock interest when I sit down!

Funky Shoes. This season’s show-stopping iridescent, metal-capped toe, even cartoonish shoes are shown off even better when the eye is driven to them with cropped pants and peek-a-boo socks.

Das Boots. Walking is made for boots this season. One thing is certain. You may have gone sockless with smoking shoes and topsiders over the summer, but boots need socks.
