Common Ground-Delivering Value for Our Membership
In serving our industry for more than 100 years, our association has proven to meet the challenges of our industry. I have selected “Common Ground-Delivering Value for Our Membership” as the Chairman’s theme. There are growing opportunities for The Hosiery Association (THA) to add value for our membership.
With the complexity of today’s global environment we face a growing number of competitive challenges.
-
Our retail customer base continues to consolidate and the market power has never been so concentrated with so few.
-
The capital structure of the industry is changing at a very rapid pace requiring financial performance with higher levels of return to stockholders.
-
Global supply is evolving and challenging all of us to compete with many new companies from around the globe.
-
The availability of skilled labor remains challenging in spite of a decreasing number of domestic jobs.
-
Environmental issues including global warming will continue to be of greater importance.
-
Social compliance in the global context will demand we manage issues at home and abroad.
-
Meeting our customers’ requirements in the area of quality, sizing, and product testing will continue to be very difficult and expensive.
Our ability to compete and meet these challenges is creating countless opportunities for our companies and THA to work together on many common needs we share. We must continue to support the many great programs in place today and selectively add services that will benefit our membership and help keep us competitive.
The Hosiery Association has endured the test of time in serving the numerous needs of our industry. We are fortunate to have a very dedicated and skilled staff working everyday to help us achieve our goals. With your help, we will continue to insure an excellent return on your investment of time and dollars in THA.
The many outstanding leaders, who, over the years have contributed so much to THA and our industry, make this a very humbling yet energizing experience. Together, we will insure THA remains as viable in the future as it has for over 100 years. Thank you for the opportunity and I look forward to serving as your chairman.
