Legendary G. A. Braun Product Developer and Inventor Retires.
Dan Hertig is responsible for dozens of industry-altering innovations.

After 42 years of dedicated service, Dan Hertig, G.A. Braun’s VP of Product Development, has announced his retirement, effective July 7th, 2006. “I am truly blessed to have been associated with some of the greatest leaders in the laundry industry, “Hertig reflects, “and I have thoroughly enjoyed contributing to the advancement of the field.”

Dan, who most recently spearheaded the successful launch of Braun’s Batch Tunnel Wash system, leaves behind a legacy of milestones virtually unmatched in the industry. In fact, many of his innovations can be found in laundry, dye and textile plants around the world today.

A multi-patent holder, Dan is responsible for countless upgrades to Braun’s legendary washer/extractors over the years. In addition, he played an indispensable role in the development of the company’s TSL machines, open pocket washers, and batch tunnel systems. Dan was also instrumental in the creation of Braun’s popular line of dye machines. In fact, it was this invention that earned him the moniker “Dyno Dan” among friends and colleagues. “There is a part of Dan in every single product built here over the past 40 years, “ marvels Braun CEO J.B. Werner. “Without his drive, insight and enthusiasm we wouldn’t be the company we are today.”

While Dan’s dedication and creativity will be sorely missed, colleagues take comfort in the fact that he will be closely involved in the selection and training of his successor.

Filling Dan’s shoes will be a tall order, as his influence spans every department and every aspect of equipment manufacturing – from sales to quality control to organizing user’s conferences.

“No question, Dan has devoted all of his professional life to this company and to the industry as a whole, “Werner explains. “I know he’ll be missed not only by co-workers and customers but by the industry itself.”
