NILIT ENTERS SEAMLESSLY INTO CHINA.
Migdal Haemek, Israel, May 31st 2007- Impressive progress has been made by Nilit since the company launched a project to expand its activity in China and conquer the market by both establishing production facilities for its nylon 66 yarns and also to expand its sales efforts. Prompted by the rapidly growing volume of its fiber exports to China, and the need to have a firm foothold in that country, the Israeli fiber specialists recently conducted two major conference events in order to raise awareness of their products and to keep local manufacturers abreast of their global activities.
The conferences which took place in both Hong Kong and Shanghai reflected Nilit’s vision of offering a comprehensive service to its Chinese customers and its continuing efforts to build up strong relationships with major seamless manufacturers in the region.
The event in Shanghai, attended by more than 120 leading members of the sector was officially opened by Mr. Uri Gutman, the Consul General of Israel in China. In his opening address he praised the on-going expansion of activities by Israeli manufacturers in China, emphasizing the mutually beneficial results which these collaborations bring to Israel and China.
Mr. Fabio Khan, Director of the Fibers Division of Nilit, further expanded on the recent strategic initiatives undertaken by the company. He elaborated on Nilit’s recent acquisition of Invista which affords Nilit exclusivity of the Tactel®, Supplex® & Cordura® brands in Europe, Africa & Middle East. He also described Nilit’s acquisition of the Spanish company Torcedos Ibericos which will add to its assets a new texturing plant with the most advanced machinery.
Mr. Oded Breier, Marketing and Sales Manager of the Fibers Division presented Nilit’s Investment project in China. With production scheduled to begin in mid 2007, the focus will be on the production of yarns suitable for seamless knitting, circular knit, hosiery and covering. The second stage will increase their capacity in spinning and texturing, and the third stage in polymerization.
The Conference concluded with a presentation “IT’S A SEAMLESS WORLD” made by Ilana Joselowitz, well known Israeli fashion designer and Nilit’s global trend consultant. Joselowitz emphasized that it is no longer possible to separate design from innovation, although one has an aesthetic connotation and the other is rooted in technology. Both correspond to the needs of an increasingly well-informed consumer who is more demanding in terms of fashion, aesthetic appearance, performance and comfort.
The spectacular fashion show that followed was enthusiastically received and clearly illustrated that seamless bodywear has transcended being a simple item of clothing, and now embraces the whole spectrum of fashion and innovation demonstrating its diversity and versatility. The show featured leading seamless products from the global market place as well as concept garments created and developed in Nilit’s own studio, connecting the latest fashion trends and seamless technology to Nilit’s fibers.
Since its establishment in 1969, Nilit has acquired worldwide recognition as a global leader in the production of nylon 66 fibers for the fashion industry and engineering thermoplastics for industrial applications. In its fully-integrated manufacturing facility in Northern Israel, Nilit controls the entire production process from polymerization to yarn processing. This enables both Nilit’s scientists and designers to engineer customized solutions for customer’s specific requirements and to respond rapidly to the changing demands of the market.
