PAUL HOCKLEY NAMED PRESIDENT
OF KEEPERS INTERNATIONAL
October 9, 2007 – Los Angeles – Capping a 30-year career of extensive hosiery and apparel experience, Paul Hockley has been named President and COO of Keepers International. He succeeds Steele Davidoff, who earlier this year accepted a position with the Weyco Group of Milwaukee. Sid Levine, co-founder of Keepers, has retired as of October 1, but will maintain an advisory and consulting role with the company.
Keepers was founded in California in 1954 by Levine and Dick Greenberg. Early-on, the business was known as Keepers Hosiery, and licensed socks with brands such as Don Loper, Hang Ten, Givenchy Gentleman, Coca-Cola, and others. Today, the company’s main thrust is Stacy Adams, Florsheim, 2(x)ist, Gianfranco Ruffini, and a division devoted exclusively to Private Label Branding. Keepers produces product worldwide, and has a subsidiary in Mexico and a distribution associate in Canada.
Hockley stated: “We are very enthused about the socks our design, sales and marketing teams are producing. With our brand strength and our private label momentum, we will continue to meet the challenges of a changing retail landscape. Also, with Dick Greenberg now as our Chairman of the Board & CEO, his history, experience, financial expertise, and steady hand will be great assets for me and our company’s operations.”
