**NOTE SCHEDULE CHANGE**: The Chairman’s Reception and Banquet will be held on Friday, April 18 instead of Saturday. The Reception originally scheduled for Friday will now be held on Saturday, April 19.
If you have made any dinner reservations with The Homestead for Friday night, you will need to change them. We hope this change does not inconvenience anyone.
The Homestead still has rooms available and will still honor our convention room rate of $179+ if you would like to attend. Don’t wait though, not sure how long The Homestead will have rooms available. Convention Registration Forms need to be faxed or mailed in to THA as soon as possible. March 31 is the last day we can accept registrations due to our deadlines with The Homestead to turn in head counts, etc. Detailed convention information/including updated program agenda can be found in the Convention Brochure, which can be downloaded from THA’s website at CLICK HERE.

THA is launching a new section on its website that provides information on eco-awareness, “green”, sustainability, etc. within the legwear industry. Whether you are looking for specific products and/or services, this medium will offer insights that are pertinent to the industry, the retailer and the consumer. Textile and Apparel Forum in Miami. The Department of Commerce’s Office of Textiles and Apparel will host the Americas Textiles and Apparel Competitiveness Forum April 7 in Miami Beach, Fla. Forum discussions will be focused on how the textile and apparel industries in North, Central and South America can use preferential programs and free trade agreements to their benefit. Sun Capital Affiliate Acquires Frontier Spinning Mills
An affiliate of Sun Capital Partners Inc. has acquired Sanford, N.C.-based Frontier Spinning Mills Inc., a spinner of cotton and polyester/cotton-blend yarns used in knit and woven apparel and home furnishings. “We are pleased to partner with an affiliate of Sun Capital, a financial sponsor with substantial operating resources and expertise in the textile and manufacturing sectors,” stated George R. Perkins Jr., CEO and chairman, Frontier. “Frontier has enjoyed long-standing relationships with its very valued customers, and now, with an equity sponsor, we will be able to better execute on our strategic plans to expand our geographic footprint and add value to our stakeholders.”

Polartec Seeks bluesign® Certification
Polartec LLC, the Lawrence, Mass.-based manufacturer of Polartec® performance fabrics for consumer and military apparel, has contracted with Switzerland-based bluesign technologies ag to conduct an evaluation of Polartec’s manufacturing processes and products with the aim of earning certification of compliance with bluesign’s environmental, health and safety standards developed for the textile industry.
